Mauser is a German arms manufacturer best known for its line of bolt action rifles. Since the 1800s Mauser has been making bolt action rifles for the German army. Perhaps Mauser’s most famous design would be the Karabiner 98k. The 98k was used extensively in WW II by German infantry because of its reliability, accuracy, and range. Rifles like the 98k gained Mauser a reputation as a leader in rifle design. Mauser has also produced several pistols dating back to WW I with the introduction of the Mauser Broomhandle named for its distinctive handle. Although they no longer produce handguns, Mauser still makes some of the finest rifles in production today.
