Spyderco has a revenue of $US 10 Million. While Spyderco is known for its quality knives, the price of such seems to be out of reach for some people. Recently, Spyderco began producing and selling knives under the Byrd brand. This brand is outsourced to China, where the knives are able to be sold at a more reasonable price.
History Of Spyderco
Spyderco was founded in 1978 by Sal Glesser. The company is based in Golden, Colorado and produces both knifes and knife sharpeners. Originally, Spyderco produced only knife sharpeners. Starting in 1981, Spyderco expanded its product line to include its first folding knife - the C01 Worker. The C01 Worker was the first folding knife ever to contain a hole for one-handed opening. This feature is now the trademark of the Spyderco brand.
