The Preservation of Halo Weaponry including the Halo Energy Sword

The video game series Halo, available for the Xbox 360 console, is quite possibly one of the best first-person shooter games ever created. Not only does it possess a complex, futuristic, and compelling story-line, the game is intense, and draws you into a vast collection of worlds littered with humanity, aliens, parasitic infestation, and otherworldly technology.

The Halo trilogy is centered around a war between human beings and various alien species who have banded together to destroy humanity due to the fact that, the existence of humanity is considered sacrilegious to the memory of their ancestors, who they see as their gods (this collection of alien species is governed by a collective entitled, "The Covenant"). These aliens enable the breeding of a parasite, referred to as "The Flood". In order for "The Flood" to thrive, it must feed off of intelligent beings (or, in Halo terms, "sentient beings"). The only way to rid the worlds of the already wide-spread "Flood" is to liquidate its sustenance. The point of the game is to discover the secrets behind massive structures placed throughout the worlds that have the ability to overcome "The Flood".

Master Chief is the main character of the trilogy. Humanity's defenders, the United Nations Space Command, constructed Master Chief, amongst others, to be soldiers on behalf of the humans. They are basically technologically advanced soldiers (also referred to as "super soldiers"). Master Chief and his constituents are referred to as "Spartans". Sadly, Master Chief is one of the only remaining Spartans, and you must aid him in the protection of the UNSC and its citizens alongside an artificial intelligence partner that goes by the name of Cortana.

Considering the popularity of this game, there has been a massive influx of Halo merchandise and paraphernalia, including life-size replicas of the intricate weaponry employed by both species in these civil wars. Amongst these weapons are: the BR55 Battle Rifle, the BR55 HB SR Battle Rifle, the Type-1 Energy Sword, the Covenant Type-51 Carbine, the Plasma Pistol, and the Plasma Rifle. The BR55 Battle Rifle is one of the most versatile weapons in Halo. It is a UNSC sanctioned weapon and is usually carried by foot soldiers for humanity. This weapon made debuted in Halo 2, although it is mentioned as being used earlier on in the galaxy in several written variations of the video game. The BR55 HB SR Battle Rifle is the upgrade of the previous battle rifle, and is introduced in Halo 3.

The Type-1 Halo Energy Sword is considered to be the most formidable weapon in the entire game. This sword is made to take down any enemy, at any time, in one blow. The Halo Energy Sword is only supposed to be carried by distinguished figures in the Covenant's ranks.
