Benchmade Knife Company was founded in Oregon in 1990, initially focusing their efforts on creating knives with parts from outside vendors and finishing their creation in house. As the company grew, they acquired new machinery and began to manufacture knives using new technology and materials. Custom knife designs were created, and in 1996 moved into its own 35000 square foot facility. They continue to innovate high quality, sleek, solid knives.
