Airsoft rifles are spring loaded replicas of real firearms. These rifles are mostly used for recreation in pre-planned war games. Much like a paintball marker, an airsoft rifle gives the shooter the ability to participate in combat like scenarios in a safe and controlled environment. Of course you must follow all safety guidelines provided by the manufacturer. One safety feature that all airsoft firearms have bright orange tips on the barrel. This way it can easily be identified as a replica.

The difference between a regular airsoft rifle and an electric airsoft rifle is the battery. Your airsoft rifle will need a rechargeable battery. The original charge from the battery will last about four hours. Any time you charge your battery after the initial charge it will last between two and three hours. Be careful not to overcharge the battery. If it's overcharged the battery will be ruined and not hold a charge. The electricity from the battery powers an electronic mechanism for cocking your rifle automatically.

When you bring an electronic airsoft rifle to the playing field you have the advantage of using your gun as an automatic or semi-automatic rifle. Using a high capacity magazine you will give you yet another advantage because of its ability to hold hundreds of pellets. These pellets are made of plastic and come in a range of sizes. The smaller pellets are usually 6-8 mm, but can go all the way up to 100 mm. They also have the ability to travel at speeds of 75 - 150 meters per second.
